Laura and Tortola Victorious in Saturday's $25,000 Suncast 1m50 Classic at WEF 6

On Saturday, Laura and her rising star, Tortola, owned by Beverly Widdowson, won the $25,000 Suncast 1m50 Classic held in the Denemethy ring at the sixth week of The Winter Equestrian Festival.

Out of 26 starters, only two riders, Laura and Peter Charles, advanced on to the jump-off. Laura was first in the ring, and keeping in mind that Peter and his top mount, Murka's Pom D'Ami are known for being fast, she and Tortola sped around the short course, but unfortunately made too tight of turn to a skinny vertical and pulled a rail. Peter Charles, however, rode a bit too conservatively, and left all rails in the cups, but accumulated 5 time faults, keeping Laura in the top position.

Congratulations to Laura, Tortola, Beverly Widdowson, and the rest of the team!
