Anthem's KWPN Retirement Ceremony - February 2010

Laura's long time Grand Prix partner, Anthem, was officially retired at the KWPN Stallion Show in the Netherlands over the weekend.

Laura and Anthem are a legendary team in the show jumping world. They had an extremely successful career together, winning hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money over the past 10 years.

Anthem, owned by Summit Syndicate, was purchased for Laura to ride as a 7 year old in 1997. He was called ‘Jumper’ when he first arrived, and that is just what he did. It became evident immediately that Laura and Anthem had a special connection and were going to make a great team.
A major player in grand prixs and nation's cups throughout his career, Anthem found success all over the world with victories in Madrid, Charlotte, Wellington, Belfast, La Baule, Aachen, Hickstead, Rotterdam, Rome, Toronto, Harrisburg, and Lexington (to name a few!).

Anthem, ‘Grandpa’, as he is now called around the stable, won his final grand prix in Madrid at the ripe old age of 18 this past spring of 2009. He is now happily retired from jumping and is currently being stabled in the Netherlands.

Anthem's 'Cheering Team', a group of very dedicated fans, traveled to the ceremony at Den Bosch to see him gallop around the show ring one last time. A special thanks to the Cheering Team for their continued support to Laura and the horses!

Most importantly, thank you to Anthem, one of the most accomplished horses in the sport of show jumping, we all love you and wish you the very best in your retirement. Congratulations on a truly amazing career!
